A couple of short story collections

Two contrasting styles at play here. The completely hypnotic Haruki Murakami’s “Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman” and Dan Rhodes inescapably tragic “Don’t Tell me the Truth About Love”. I’m not sure how I ended up reading short stories back to back, but I’m glad to be back to reading a novel now. The stories whizzed by and some I didn’t understand very well, and others just annoyed me for the obvious downward spiral they were going to take (mostly talking about Rhodes here).

.

I’ll give a 4.5 stars to Murakami and a 3.5 stars to Rhodes. Both are worth reading though. No wonder bookshops seem to be full of Murakami.
