Facebook fiends

Last week I joined Facebook because an old friend emailed me about an upcoming “real life” event that was listed there, and I had to register to view it. It was quite a revelation from the very beginning – upon signing in, it suggested “Friends” in a list that I knew. Before long I had a dozen friends and way too much information pouring in than was necessary.

On one hand it’s amazing to see people that I had mostly lost track of making multiple daily posts and obviously very involved in the social networking, but on the other, there’s seems to be a lot of junk applications and novelty games that clutter things up. And whats this rubbish about “Darren LIKES this”. How daft is that. In short, I promptly deleted some people because they seemed to produce mostly crap.

Every day now I seem to get suggestions to add more new mutual friends, and I just don’t see how it will ever end. Maybe with my parents becoming my Facebook friends. So, today I set all my notifications to off, and I’ll see if that helps.

  1. You better add me as well. I don’t use any of those types of applications, so I wont clutter your page too much.

I looked for you, but there are too many with your name out there with no pictures.

  2. add me too, Like you most of the App’s annoy me, and I generally switch any app I see more than twice to be hidden, however I do like seeing what my friends are up to.

  3. you can add Han and I we are both on there Darren, just send a request to Jason Hammond, be good to keep in touch 🙂
